THESE ILLUSTRATIONS WILL BE SCANNED IN BETTER QUALITY FOR THE ACTUAL GUIDE.
EDIT: Holy heck I hate this scanner. It ATE most of the colors and most of the sketchlines (which are part of the style I'm using) can't be seen. AAAGH!
So yeah, I'm making a fanbot creation guide. I have all the text for it written out, so now I'm drawing the illustrations for it. They won't appear in a big chunk as you see them here, though--I'll be rearranging them on the guide.
Experimenting with a new style with different kinds of pencils.
Ugh, SAUT-A and VN-GO gave me a crapload of trouble. Especially VN-GO. WHY did I use him as an example like five times when he's such a BUTT to draw? I think I'll replace him with a different bot for some of the examples...
KU-TO actually gave me a bit of trouble too, weirdly enough. I had trouble making him NOT look like a girl because of his optics. XD;; So I gave him ANGRYEYES since I couldn't get his optics to look right drawing them normally.
See the "1-2" on the bottom? This is the second page of illustrations. The first one contains a bunch of other pics, and there'll likely be a couple more pages of illustrations for the rest of this first part... I've got a lot of work ahead of me.
*sighs* Unfortunately my parents have been busy so I haven't gotten my files from MUR-E's hard drive yet, which means I still can't use programs like photoshop and the like. Ugh. So unless anyone wants to collaborate with me to put the guide together, it'll be a while before I actually release the thing.
All these bots belong to Pixar, except for... KU-TO, who belongs to
If you're having trouble with the scan quality, have you tried increasing the DPI? What do you use to scan - a scanning specific program or the Import feature in Photoshop? I know you can increse the DPI with PS but don't know about the kinds of programs provided with scanner/printers.
...Um, my mom has some kind of mammoth scanner/fax machine/printer/copier that I use. There is no Photoshop on my mom's computer.
My own scanner I cannot use because it's too much of a hassle to hook it up to my mom's computer. I can't use it until I set up a new computer that I can make MUR-E's harddrive a secondary harddrive in.

Actually, have you tried getting a copy of Paint.NET? It's like Photoshop only open source and free. I think it also reads PSDs too. This might work for the stuff you need to do.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
